In 1997 the Government introduced party wall legislation across the whole of England & Wales in the form of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. This Act provides a framework for preventing and resolving disputes in relation to party walls, boundary walls, and excavations near neighbouring buildings.
We are able to identify party walls and determine if the proposed work falls under the Party Wall Act. If the work does fall under the Party Wall Act, we can correctly notify all affected neighbours by sending out a Party Wall Notice. We are experienced in providing a comprehensive service from initial assessment at design stage, including technical advice on Party Structure works, to agreement of any Awards. We are a trained Party Wall Surveyor and members of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors and Pyramus & Thisbe Club.
As independent specialists we are able to monitor the works on site for compliance with the Act and any Awards. This can be undertaken in conjunction with our contract administration service, thus assisting to minimise disruptions and delays to any design and project programme.
